Ganjam : The state level “Wrestling Competition” has been organised at “Panchamukhi Gymnasium” of Puri about 19 Candidates had participated from Ganjam. While Ganjam has won one Gold medal and 8 Silver out of which 7 Girls and 2 Boys. In junior Women wing G Bidyasree Reddy secured Gold medal in weight lifting of 68 kg. It is said that Ganjam secured Gold after a long gap of more than 4 decades said coach Sifu Balakrishna Ready & woman world champion B.Yasada Readdy. In 50 kg weight lifting Sumitra Majhi, in 40 kg P. Khusi , 53 kg Mira Rana secured silver while below 15 yrs group Gitanjali Mandal won lifting 39 kgs, 42 Kg Sugyani and in boys group 41-45 kg Subham Patro, and 60 kg k. Sanjeev Kumar won silver. Prasant Kumar Bahinipati, President & Secretary of Navjeevan Seva Ashram and all the Ganjam team of Gymnastics were offered a warm welcome at Berhampur Railway station with garlands and flower bouquets.
