Ganjam : Brahmapur district police observed 60th home guard day at Ambapua Reserve Police ground . The event, presided by Berhampur SP Dr.Saravana Vivek M, where Southern IG Satyabrata Bhoi attended as chief guest, who discussed the contribution of housekeepers to society. During World War II, the Home Guard was formed as a voluntary organization to help fighters. The force was later deployed to protect society. The Home Guard has been cooperating with the police to ensure law and order. He encouraged ordinary people as well to take part in solving this great task. Therefore every year, 6th December is celebrated as Home Guard Day in every state. On the occasion, IG Shri Bhoi honoured 10 Home Guards of Brahampur for serving the people during the past Gulab, Titli, Bulbul, Cyclone and Flood, law enforcement, traffic control, etc. for their outstanding work. They are Ritendra Kumar Satapathy, SADAR, Tophani Sahu, B.N.Pur, Tribikrama Mishra, TOWN, Santosh Kumar Padhy Gosaninuagam, Mitu Pradhan, SADAR, Pabitra Kumar Gouda, GOLANTHARA, Mahendra Sethy, DIGAPAHANDI, Srikanta Kumar Mishra, DIGAPAHANDI, Manmath Kumar Gouda, JARADA, Sibaram Sethi, K.NUAGAON.
