Agreement signed for running of IPGI and Super Specialty, Rourkela by Apollo Hospitals Enterprise Limited

Rourkela : An agreement was signed between Rourkela Ispat Trust (RIT) and Apollo Hospitals Enterprise Limited (AHEL) on 20th December 2022, pertaining to operation and management of the Ispat Post Graduate and Super Specialty Hospital of Rourkela. Mr. Atanu Bhowmick, Director In-Charge, RSP, Mr.P.K. Satapathy, ED (P&A), Dr B K Hota, ED(M&HS) and Mr. A K Behuria, CGM In-Charge (F&A) were present from Rourkela Ispat Trust (RIT), wile the AHEL was represented by Mr. R. Krishnakumar, Finance Controller (AHEL), Mr. K. Ravichandran, Sr. VP (AHEL) and Dr. CA Amar Kr. Behera, GM-Finance (Apollo – Bhubaneswar)
The Hospital will be handed over the Apollo Hospitals on ‘as is where is’ basis on 1st February 2023, while the complete takeover of Operations and maintenance under AHEL will commence from 1st March 2023.At present the hospital has super specialty facilities in 5 disciplines, viz. Cardiology, Cardio Thoracic & Vascular Surgery (CTVS), Neurology, Neurosurgery and Nephrology. The Hospital will also provide Health care services in the stated specialities under Govt Schemes like CGHS and BSKY.
It is worth mentioning here that, 300-bed state of the art hospital equipped with avant-garde medical equipment and advanced facilities, was dedicated to the nation by the then Hon’ble President of India, on 21st March 2021. The ‘Rourkela Ispat Trust’ (RIT) was constituted for managing the hospital and selecting an O&M partner. Accordingly a tender was floated and the Apollo Hospitals Enterprise Limited was selected as the O&M partner.
With a leading health care service provider of the country like AHEL, having an experience of 39 years, managing it, the Hospital is all set to provide quality health care service at affordable cost to not only the people of Rourkela, but also to the residents of neighbouring districts and states. The facility will be a boon to the patients of the area who were forced to travel around 400 KM distance for getting better treatment.
This hospital has reinforced the commitment of Rourkela Steel Plant and Apollo Hospitals Enterprise Ltd. to ensure best of healthcare services to all its stake holders.
