Red Cross Organises Training Programe

Bhubaneswar: Under the guidance of Honorary Secretary Indian Red Cross Society (IRCS), Odisha State Branch( OSB )Sj. Bibhuti Bhusan Pattnaik (IAS) a five days of JRC Study cum Training camp has been organised at Nilachal Polytechnic Bhubaneswar . Honoraray Treasurer Sj. Bhabani Prasad Nanda presided over the valedictory programme and advised the students to come forward to take care of nature for a healthy society, Former Secretary IRCS ,OSB Maj. Dr. Kalpana Das, Additional secretary H& FW Dept. Mr. Ashok Kumar Rath. Youth Red Cross (YRC ) Officer Dr. Ramesh Chandra Bebera joined as guest and motivated the volunteers.
During the camp different technical sessions like History of Red Cross, school safety, substance abuse. First Aid, Climate Change, Fire safety, Disaster Management and WASH Importance of medicinal plants. Road safety etc. Fire dept. joined and demonstrated different skills on search and rescue during fire hazards. Additional Transport Commissioner Sj. Sanjay Kumar Biswal joined and took an interactive session for the volunteers and made a quiz competition and winners of the quiz were given helmates. The main motto of this session was to make the volunteers aware on “wearing of helmate by the pillion rider” for reducing fatality rate due to the road accidents. The tree man of India Dr. Dilip Kumar Srichandan take a session on climate change and made all vouteers asgreen army for taking care of nature by massive plantation drive. Astraddle. Agriculture officer Mr. Jayanta Kumar Jena joined and made the volunteers understand how the medicinal plants plays vital role for at healthy life and he also distributed medicinal plants to the counsellors and volunteers.Master Trainer Mr. Chandan Kumar Mohanty joined and oriented volunteers on Disaster management, water sanitation and hygiene. Winners of different competitions like group dance, group song, essay writing in Oriya and English, Extempore speech, GK. Painting, Exhibition and painting among volunteers participated in state camp were felicitated. The volunteers learnt a lot on different sessions from the state camp and they definitely will be asset for the society.
