Bureau Head(PKB): Delivering a scathing attack on the utter negligence of the opening up of the Kendriya Vidyalaya at Jeypore in the tribal dominated koraput district of Odisha, the Sr. Congress Leader and MLA Jeypore Taraprasad Bahinipati along with Chairman, Jeypore Municipality Narendra Kumar Mahanty and all the youth Congress leaders participated in the strike. The women Congress wing also found taking part in the district “Banda”.
While speaking to our correspondent, Mr. Mahanty told ” The strike called by Congress party was a protest against the step motherly treatment of BJP government at the centre towards Jeypore subdivision of the tribal dominated koraput district of Odisha for the genuine demand for the sanction of a central school”
Reacting heavily, Mr. Mahanty asked “When Kendriya Vidyalaya could be sanctioned for Himanchal Pradesh, the in – laws areas of Union Education Minister and also for the own areas of Dharmendra Pradhan in Angul, Why not for Jeypore? asked Mr. Mahanty.
Expressing about the strike, Mr. Mahanty said “We announced for the strike seven day back. We assured everyone that the strike would be held in the peaceful manner starting from morning 6am to 6 pm in the district. According to him, ” Everyone co-operateed for the “Koraput Banndh.

It was to be reported here that just a couple of days ago, the same party staged a dharna in front of the main post office of Jeypore that received huge support from the local people including parents towards the demand of a Kendriya Vidyalaya at Jeypore. The Jeypore town IIC Sambit Behera stated ” There was no incidents of violence observed in any part of Jeypore.
The fight for Kendriya Vidyalaya at Jeypore was not only seen at Jeypore and borriguma but also in koraput, Semiliguda, pattangi, nandapur, Narayanpatna, Bandhugaon,, Baipariguda, kundura and many places of koraput district. While speaking to our correspondent, the President of Youth Congress Sukanta Patnaik stated ” It was strike against the negligence of BJP government for not sanctioning Kendriya Vidyalaya to Jeypore. Lorry and truck association, Taxi association, private bus association, Youth association including many students wholeheartedly supported the strike to make it hundred percentage successful., Mr. Patnaik stated.
