Sonepur, ( Pawan Agrawal ): The International Red Cross has social implications to boost the Social Service among its volunteers to render one’s duties and service from the core of heart to initiate Red Cross Movement. To justify this propositions the Junior Red Cross Society, Subarnapur observed the World Red Cross Day 2023 to commemorate the birth anniversary of its founder Sir Jean Henery Dunant under the able guidance of District Education Officer, Sonepur (DEO) Sj. Laxman Bhoi. A series of activities like Volulntary Blood Donation Camp, Jalachhatra, Cleaning Drive and Awareness Programmes were organized at School and District point. The Additional District Education Officer, Sonepur(ADEO)-cum-Secretary, JRC, Sonepur Dr. Radhakanta Gartia inaugurated the Jalachhatra at Hikudi Chowk adjacent to the Mahanadi Bridge, Sonepur and opined to dedicated ourselves for pro-active social service through Red Cross. The travellers and passengers in buses , Auto Rickshaw, Bikers and others commuters were distributed with cool drinking water, Dahi Chala, Jaljeera pani, and Belapana to combat the ongoing heat wave and Sun Stroke. The other dignatiries who attebded this service camp were Junior Red Cross Officerf, Sonepur(JRCO), Sj. Rabi Chandra Pasasyata, Vice-Chiarman Sj. Gatikrishna Mishra, Headmasters Lokanath Meher, Sj. Ashis Kumar RAth, Smt. Pragyana Paramita Mishra, Sj. Kalia Karmi, Smt. Manjulata Jagdala, Sarpanch Sj Keshan Jagdala respectively. The Counsellor of Kumarkeli UPS Sj. Hrushikesh Chand coordinated the programme. The Senior Resource Person Sj. Chandramani Bagh gave the introductdory speech and Sj. Jhasaketan Meheer passed vote of thanks. The other Resource Persons and Counsellors who attended the programme were Hrushikesh Dang, Chandra Shekhar Mahapatra, Tapaswini Dash, Gopesh Panda, Nimai Charan Mallik, Prahallad Nayak, Prasanna Satapathy, Jagadish Dash respectively. Some of the Counsellors namely, Chandra Shekhar Mahaptra, Prasanna Satapathy, Jagadish Dash donated blood at VBD Camp held at Conference Hall, Collector’s office, Subarnapur.
