Balngir, : Indian Red Cross Society (IRCS), Balangir District Branch and District Administration observed the District Level World Red Cross day. Attending as the Chief Guest the Additional District Magistrate (ADM ) Sj. Lambodara Dharua inaugurated the observance by hoisting the Red Cross Flag and urged that all Volunteers should join the mission of Red Cross to boost up the Humanitarian Service and Sri Dharua became the First Donor of the Blood Donation Camp organized at Dist. Blood Bank, Balangir to mark the birth anniversary of Sir Jean Henry Dunant, the founder of Red Cross. As a follow up Sj. Parasar Bag, the District Sports Officer (DSO), Balangir also donated blood. The technicians collected 17 units of blood from the donors. The entire programme of the day was coordinated by the deputy Collector cum Emargency Officer, Balangir Shubhasmita Mishra.The other dignitaries who attended the programme were Medical Superintendent Dr. Manasi Panda, CDMO Dr. Kuber Chandra Mahanta, ADMO Dr, Prabhat Rath, DIPRO Sj. Jayadev Panigrahi respectively. Also an awareness meeting was held in the conference hall at Bhima Bhoi Medical College and Hospital. The other officials who attended this meeting were Dr. Bijayananda Sethi, Sub-collector, Patnagarh, and Additional Superintendent of Police Sj. Suresh Naik as the Honb’le guests respectively. The other officers and volunteers who participated this meeting were Sj. Jugal Kishore Biswal, Tahasildar, Deagaon, Dr. Daitari Pujari, Co-ordinator, YRC, Sj. Indubhusan Thakur, Advocate and Red Cross Volunteer Sj. Ram Narayan Dash, Prabhakar Chanda, Rabi Chandra Pasayat, Dibyasmita Sahu and opined the objectives of this Red Cross Day. Staff of Emergency Office namely, Bikash Ranjan Kara DRRC OSDMA, Sanjay ku Mishra SRA DA Red Cross, Jayanta Behera SRA Emergency Section, Ishaneswar Mishra Data Entry Operator extended support to make this programme grand success.
