Over 5 kg brown sugar seized from ship at Paradip Port in Odisha – N.F Times



Jagatsinghpur: The Customs Department last night seized more than 5 kg of brown sugar from a ship anchored at the Paradip Port in Odisha’s Jagatsinghpur district, reports said.

As per information, the contraband, sourced from Indonesia, was being smuggled to Denmark via Paradip Port.

The Customs Department officers seized the brown sugar when it was being shifted from ‘MV Debi’ ship, which was anchored at the Paradip International Cargo Terminal (PICT) of the port, to a Denmark-bound ship.

The authorities have started investigation into the incident to ascertained as to who were involved in the offence.

Earlier, police had seized foreign liquor and cigarettes from the PICT while those were being smuggled to Kolkata.
