Bhubaneswar: Forecasted cyclone over the Bay of Bengal is likely to make landfall between Chennai and Machilipatnam around evening of 4th December, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) said today.
As per the agency’s prediction, a cyclonic storm is likely to form over the southwest Bay of Bengal around 3rd December. Thereafter, it would move northwestwards and cross south Andhra Pradesh and adjoining north Tamil Nadu coast between Chennai and Machilipatnam around evening of 4th December.
Under the influence of the system, light to moderate rainfall at most places with isolated heavy rainfall is likely to occur over south coastal and adjoining south interior Odisha on 4th December and isolated heavy to very heavy rainfall over the same region on 5th December.
