Odisha CM rolls out LAccMI scheme in Koraput – N.F Times



Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik today rolled out the ‘Location Accessible Multi-modal Initiative’ (LAccMI) scheme in Koraput district to augment the bus network in rural areas.

Under the much-hyped scheme, the rural passengers will avail bus services at cheaper prices from panchayats to block headquarters. A total 63 buses will be connecting 234 panchayats in the district.

LAccMI scheme, which had started in Malkangiri district under the 5T initiative, covered major tribal districts in the first phase. The students, women and divyangs get the bus service at only Rs 5 under the scheme managed by Mission Shakti.

Speaking on the occasion, CM Patnaik said that the people of Malkangiri, Nabarangpur, Rayagada, Kalahandi, Gajapati and Koraput districts got the LAccMI bus service in the first phase. As many as 1131 panchayats in these six districts availed the bus facility. These made it easier for 63 lakh people in these districts to commute from their houses. in the first phase. The service is now available in 1131 panchayats in six districts at a lower cost.

He said that there is a celebration of development in villages. A new awakening has come to the panchayats through the ‘Ama Odisha Nabin Odisha’ programme. Digital infrastructure has been developed with the spread of the Jagannath culture. Development today has become a mass movement and panchayats have become the heart of development programmes. The transformation of the village has paved the way for the transformation of the whole of Odisha.

The Chief Minister expressed the strong hope that with the cooperation of all, the formation of a new Odisha will be realized.
