Odisha Govt orders probe into alleged violation of Labour Law in High-Tech Hospital – N.F Times



Bhubaneswar: Labour and ESI (L&ESI) department today ordered the Labour Commissioner to conduct a probe into alleged violation of Law by High-Tech Medical College and Hospital authorities here.

“In inviting a reference to the above subject, I am directed to enclose a copy of Grievance Letter dt. 08.01.2024 along with a copy of its enclosures received from Biplab Prakash Mohanty, Convenor, All Odisha Technical and Professional Students Association with a request to enquire the matter and furnish a report to this Department early,” L&ESI Under Secretary wrote to the Labour Commissioner.

Worth mentioning, the grievance on violation of labour law by the Hi-Tech Medical College & Hospital in Bhubaneswar was earlier received from the Odisha technical and professional students’ outfit.

Hi-Tech Hospital recently hogged the headlines after a blast occurred during AC gas filling at the private health facility on December 29 and due to subsequent identity mess-up of the tragedy victims.

Four persons were injured in the mishap and three of them succumbed while undergoing treatment. The first, second and third deaths were reported on December 30, January 3 and January 6.
