Bhubaneswar: Simulia BDO Bishwaranjan Mohanty was found hanging in his official residence in Balasore district of Odisha today.
Mohanty had been appointed as the Block Development Officer (BDO) of Simulia around two months ago, sources said.
Mohanty was found hanging in his official residence at Simulia under mysterious circumstances today afternoon, sources said.
Mohanty went to his office in the morning and returned home around the noon. Employees of the block office started searching for Mohanty after he skipped a scheduled official meeting through videoconference in the afternoon.
They broke open the door of Mohanty’s official residence and found him hanging after he did not respond to them, sources said.
It is suspected that Mohanty might have died by suicide. Detailed reports are awaited.
