XPoSat Mission: POLIX All Set For Active Observation – N.F Times

Sriharikota: In a significant stride towards unravelling the mysteries of the cosmos, POLIX, the polarimeter instrument in X-rays under the country’s maiden polarimetry mission XPoSat is now set for active observation.

Launched on January 1, 2024, XPoSat aimed to explore the intricate dynamics of luminous astronomical X-ray sources in extreme conditions.

The pulse profile of the Crab pulsar generated from its observations validated the functionality. POLIX was designed and developed by the Raman Research Institute, Bengaluru, indigenously, with able support from the industry.
