A dozen feared dead in Jharkhand train mishap – N.F Times



Bhubaneswar: At least a dozen passengers are feared dead in a major train mishap near Jamtara in neighbouring Jharkhand today.

However, the Railways are yet to give the official figures regarding the death toll and injured persons.

A train ran over the passengers at Kalajharia railway station at Jamtara. Rescue and medical teams with ambulances rushed to the spot. At least a dozen passengers might have been killed in the mishap, said a source.

According to sources, an express train halted at Kalajharia after fire broke out in it in the evening. The panicked passengers jumped from the train to save their life. Another train passing through the station hit the passengers, sources said.
