Former OSCPCR chairperson Sandhyabati Pradhan quits BJD – N.F Times

Bhubaneswar: Sandhyabati Pradhan, former chairperson of Odisha State Commission for Protection of Child Rights (OSCPCR), has resigned from the Biju Janata Dal (BJD).

Sending the resignation letter to BJD supremo Naveen Patnaik, she mentioned that he was unreachable for suggestions and advice.

“I am veritably pained to tender my resignation from the primary membership of Biju Janata Dal as I strongly feel our voices do not reach your good self since you are surrounded by a coterie with a vested personal interest. Your door seems to be closed to listen to our grievances, suggestions and advice. I did my assigned duties assiduously towards vibrant empowerment of women and in the field of protection of rights of children,” she wrote in the letter.

“Whatever onerous duties were given to me, I discharged with utmost sincerity. Under your instructions and guidance, I did my best to fetch women empowerment and child protection matters to a standardized level,” she said in the letter.

“As I am disillusioned with the present state of affairs in Biju Janata Dal, I regretfully have taken this decision to leave the Biju Janata Dal and hence, tender my resignation from the primary membership of this political party,” she concluded.
