Odisha Schools To Reopen On June 17 After Summer Vacation – N.F Times


Bhubaneswar: The Department of School and Mass Education, Odisha has directed all the Districts Collectors to reopen the schools closed due to summer vacation on June 17.

All preparations will begin weeks before the opening of schools. The school authorities have been directed to clean the toilets starting from the classrooms.

The department focuses on cleaning the classrooms and premises of government, government-aided higher secondary, Upper primary and primary schools, and cleaning ofĀ  water tanks.

The cooks and the helpers have been asked to come to school the day before the school opens. Everything will be checked before the school opens. The department was instructed to take care of the school premises and all the equipment there.

This order was given in a meeting with all the district education officers on behalf of the Department of School and Mass Education.

Smart classrooms, e-library will be made available for the students. Internet connection will be confirmed within a week of school opening. Steps will be taken to provide pure water to the students.

All the furniture in the classrooms will be cleaned and made useful to sit on. Kitchen, cooking gas will be cleaned. Kitchen utensils will be inspected. Expiry date of all consumables will be checked.

It is worth mentioning that, the state government announced summer vacation on April 25. A press release issued by the Information and Public Relations Department said that schools will be run under the direct supervision of the authorities of the State Education Department.
