Jatni: In a tragic incident on Sunday, a person Dula Naik and his nephew Nikhil Naik died after falling into a well in Ward No. 12, Goda Dharamsagar area of Jatni municipality of Khurda district.
According to reports, Nikhil fell into the well for some reason. Finding no way to rescue his nephew, Uncle Dula threw a rope into the well. However, as Nikhil began to climb out, Dula lost his balance and tragically fell into the well.
The fire brigade rescued the two after reaching the spot and send them to the local community health centre. But the doctor declared them dead in the health centre. The police have taken custody of the bodies and sent them for autopsy.
