Two Dead After Trailer Truck Rams Into Bike In Odisha’s Jharsuguda – N.F Times

Jharsuguda: Two persons on a motorcycle were killed reportedly after getting hit by a trailer truck on NH-49 near Ib Bridge at Budhipadar within Sadar police station limits of Jharsuguda on Monday.

According to local police, the deceased persons have been identified as Kishore Raut (42) of Ratakhandi under Brajrajnagar police station and Sanjeep Panda (26) of Bhuta Bangala.

This evening, while the duo was travelling on a motorcycle, a trailer truck moving at a high speed hit the two-wheeler. As a result, both of them fell on the roadside and sustained fatal injuries. After causing the mishap, the truck driver sped away.

Though both were rescued and rushed to District HQ Hospital in a critical condition, doctors declared them dead upon arrival, sources said.

The police have registered a case in this connection at the Sadar police station and have seized the two vehicles involved in the accident.

After the accident, there was tension prevailed at the scene and traffic was disrupted for some time. Later, the police reached the spot and handled the situation peacefully and the agitating people allowed movement of vehicles.

Soon after, the police also seized the trailer truck near Gandhi Chhak, while the driver was trying to escape.
