Puri: Expressing serious concern over the mishap during the Adapa Mandap Bije Pahandi of Lord Balabhadra in Puri, the State Government has initiated steps to curb any other untoward incident.
As many as 12 servitors sustained injuries after Lord Balabhadra’s idol fell on them during the ‘Adapa Bije Pahandi’ ceremony.
Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi expressed grief over the incident and immediately sent Deputy Chief Minister Pravati Parida and Law Minister Prithviraj Harichandan to Puri with instructions to take appropriate steps after reviewing the situation in Puri.
Along with this, Chief Minister Majhi also wished for the speedy recovery of the injured sevayats.
Soon after, Dy CM Parida, Law Minister Harichandan reached the Puri District HQ Hospital and took stock of the situation. They also met the injured sevayats and their family members.
