Anshuman Divedi-A Police Officer with a Mission dismantled the Ganja Mafias’ Vision

Buruea Chief PKB: Anshuman Divedi after completion of his probation, joined Chitrakonda Police Station on twelve August 2021 as SDPO there. Hardly had he completed one year and one month there, he was shifted to Bhadrak for being the City DSP. During this short span of serving at Chitrakonda, many accolades went to his credit as an officer not only in dismantling the kingdom of contraband GANJA mafias but also creating a record of apprehending more than thirty tons of ganja just within a year. This is the highest of its value across the country. There were two police officers who snatched away the sleep of the mafias in undivided koraput district. One was Adity Mahakur who was posted to the Jeypore Sadar police station. Mr.Mahakur did play his dedication as an officer which is being remembered even today. As at every alternate days, there was seizure of Ganja. When people around Jeypore were known to be saluting his style of services to checkmate the contraband GANJA mafias, he was transferred to Bargarh with a single order made the people of the district spellbound. Similarly, Mr Anshuman Divedi who captured more than thirty tons of contraband GANJA on his dedicated painstaking efforts with coordination of Malkangiri SP Mr. Nitesh Gadwani and sending more than one hundred eighty criminals into the imprisonment was transferred to Bhadrak can be assumed as a step perhaps to mitigate the motivation of many officers working around his circle. According to some political outfits serving the Swabhiman Anchal, “Mr. Divedi became very strict and uncompromising ” Being strict to the criminals is a reward or punishment is an uphill task to be easily deciphered. Malkangiri SP Mr Nitesh Gadwani kept a very good impression on Mr Divedi stating” Anshuman was an excellent officer and he did marvellous job in the capture of contraband GANJA”.
Mr.Anshuman was reported to have been brought up by Prof.Subash Divedi, his father who received education from JNU and Mother, Mrs Snehalata Divedi, a renowned poet. The ethics and cultural heritage being found existing in him was a direct inheritance from his parents. Even during probation of hardly five months at Boipariguda police station, he captured six tons of contraband GANJA. Quite often he used to sanction credit of receiving good training from the excellent hands of IPS officer Arun Sadangi. The motivation to remain sleepless came from his IAS friend Mr.Amrit Ruturaj, currently the District Collector of Kendrapada and also from his beloved wife Sagarika Sahu, the Assit Collector cum District Social Officer, Malkangiri.
During his tenure as SDPO, Chitrakonda, he made installation of 35 CC cameras at Balimela with the cooperation of NAC. This particular project of ANPR tecnology is the first of its own in Malkangiri District. Around one thousand maoists including two hundred fifty in jantri surrendered to join in the mainstream of social life under his administrative stewardship and Mr.Divedi played a good innings of merging three crores of ill-gotten properties of eight criminals to government exchequer through a detailed analysis and submission of reports. Apart from his attendance in four BSF camps in which there were a great deal of platform for the surrendering of maoists, his tenure became a spark of controversy after the vandalism at Chitrakonda Police Station which Mr Divedi remarked as ” every action has its equal and opposite reaction” I have done nothing harmful to anybody rather just executed my responsibility as an officer in grey colour uniform with cap, proudly articulated by Mr Anshuman, The DSP.
