Bhubaneswar: As many as 765 super specialty hospitals from private sector have been empanelled under the Biju Swasthya Kalyan Yojana (BSKY) of Odisha government for cashless treatment of the beneficiaries of the health scheme.
This was revealed at a meeting, chaired by Health & Family Welfare department Secretary Shalini Pandit, to review the implantation of the scheme recently.
The Health Secretary directed senior officails of State Health Assurance Society (SHAS) to keep oversight on the services and facilities available to the patients in the empanelled hospitals. She also directed the Nodal Officers to scrutinize on daily basis the claims raised against the treatment provided by the hospitals for payment within the scheduled timeline.
As of now, 155 super specialty hospitals from 16 states–Andhra Pradesh, Assam, Telengana, Karnataka, Delhi, Gujarat, Maharashtra, West Bengal, Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand, Punjab, Haryana, Rajasthan, Tamil Nadu, Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand—have partnered with Odisha government for implementation of BSKY. Similarly, altogether 610 hospitals from different districts of Odisha came under the fold of the health scheme.
Some of the prominent hospitals outside Odisha empanelled under BSKY are Christian Medical College, Vellore; Sri Shankara Cancer Foundation, Bengaluru; Tata Medical Centre, Kolkata; Homi Bhaba (HB) Cancer Hospital, Vizag and Sangur; Dr Bhubaneswar Borooah Cancer Institute (BBCI), Guwahati; HB Cancer Hospital, Varanasi; Mahanana Pandit Madan Moham Malaviya Cancer Centre, Varanasi; Advanced Centre for Treatment, Research and Education in Cancer, Mumbai; and Tata Memorial, Mumbai.
As many as 24 centres Fortis group of hospitals operating at Chennai, Delhi, Deheradun, Vashi, Bengaluru, Mumbai, Kolkata, Amritsar, Faridabad, Gurgaon, Jaipur, Noida, Ludhiana, New Delhi, Delhi, Punjab and Kokalata along with seven super specialty heart hospitals of Narayana Hrudayalaya group at Bengaluru, Mumbai, Raipur, Kolkata, and Jamsedpur have also come under the BSKY scheme.
Empanelled super specialty hospitals in Visakhapatnam includes A.N. hospital, Queens NRI Hospital, Sagar Durga Hospital, Vijetha Hospital, MB Muti-Specialty Hospital, KIMS ICON hospital, GJ hospital and trauma centre, Giggles and OMNI Women and Children hospital, GITAM institute of Medical science, OMNI hospital, Ayushman hospital, and Medicover hospital, said an official.
Several premier hospitals in Raipur including Life Worth Super Specialty Hospital, SMC Heart Institute, Medishine Health Care, Kanha Children’s hospital, Sanjeevani Cancer Hospital, OM hospital, Shree Narayan Hospital, Sagar Multi-Specialty Hospital, Vardaan Hospital, JMJ Morning Star Hospital, Mittal Institute of Medical Science, Petals New-Born and Children Hospital, Suyash Institute of Medical Science, Agrawal hospital, Goodwill’s Medical Science, Shri Krishna Hospital, Raipur Institute of Medical Science, Sri Ananta Sai Hospital, Balgopal Children Hospital, and Kalda Burn & Plastic Surgery were brought under BSKY fold.
KD Nupur Hospital and Nilakanhtha Hospital in Surat; Great Eastern Medical School & Hospital, Medicover Hospital and KIMS SAI Seshadri Hostel in Sirkakulam; HCG EKO Cancer Centre in Kolkata; Velammala Medical College in Madurai; Medicover Cancer Hospital in Hyderabad; Shri Balaji Metro hospital in Chhattisgarh; Apex Super Specialty Hospital in Raigarh; Venkatarama Hospital at Dwarakanagar and Vizianagaram and Tirumala Medicover Hospital at Vizianagaram were also brought under BSKY fold, added the official.
According to the department, 54 District Coordinators were engaged both inside and outside the state for visiting the empanelled hospitals regularly and keeping watch over the patient-centric services there. At hospital level, 773 Swasthya Mitras were engaged to pride necessary assistance to the patients in matters connecting to doctors, admission in hospitals, and processing of their documents for discharge after treatment.
Around 140 qualified and experienced doctors were looking into the treatment provided to the patients on daily basis, and were scrutinizing the claims raised by the private sector hospitals, said the official.
