Jharsuguda: In a bizarre incident, a complainant allegedly stole a petition-related document from Sadar Police Station in Odisha’s Jharsuguda district.
According to reports, one Pinku Mandal of Lecture Colony here had lodged a complaint at the police station over a matter. However, police hadn’t filed FIR in this regard. Mandal had then moved the Court of SDJM here. The court had directed the police station to register a case in this connection.
The complainant had on December 6 visited the police station to know about the progress in the investigation.
While the IIC of the police station yesterday sought the petition-related document sent by the court, it was found missing.
Later, CCTV footage of the police station was examined, during which it came to fore that Mandal took the document with him while leaving the police station on December 6.
Police have filed a case against him and started investigation.
