Rourkela : The esteemed members of the Board of the Maharatna Company Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL) are on a two day visit to Rourkela Steel Plant (RSP). The high level team comprises Mr. N Shankarappa, Independent Director (SAIL), Mr. Ashok Kumar Tripathy, Independent Director (SAIL), Mr. Kanhaiya Sarda, Independent Director (SAIL), Ms Neelam Sonker, Independent Director (SAIL), Mr. SKV Raju, Independent Director (SAIL), Mr. A K Tulsiani, Director Finance (SAIL), Mr. A K Singh, Director (Tech, Proj &RM) (SAIL) and Mr. B P Singh, Director I/c (ISP&DSP and ASP)
The team accompanied by Mr. Atanu Bhowmick, Director In-Charge, RSP commenced their plant visit on 3rd November 2022 from the Model Room of HRD Centre where they were briefed about the layout of the plant. A safety film and a film encompassing the various endeavours and achievements of RSP were screened on the occasion.
Thereafter the esteemed members visited Raw Material Handling Plant, Blast Furnace – 5, Steel Melting Shop – 2, Hot Strip Mill – 2 and New Plate Mill. The Chief General Managers of the concerned departments received the dignitaries and briefed about the production process and the performance status of their respective units.
Soon after, the visiting dignitaries held a high level meeting with the Senior Officers of the plant at the ‘Manthan’ Conference Hall. The DIC, all the EDs, CGMs and many Heads of Departments joined the meeting.
It is noteworthy that the visiting dignitaries will be attending the meetings of the Board Sub Committee for Safety, Health and Environment and Board Sub Committee meeting for Audit during their stay at Rourkela.
