The ruling BJD has already announced its support towards Vaishnaw in the elections for the “larger interest of the State’s Railways and Telecom development”.
In 2019, Vaishnaw was also elected to the Rajya Sabha as a BJP candidate with the help of BJD.
The BJD has fielded Debashish Samantaray and Subhasish Khuntia as its candidates for the polls. It didn’t announce any candidate for the third seat.
