Cuttack: Odisha Vigilance sleuths arrested a Senior Revenue Assistant (SRA) in Cuttack district for demanding and accepting a bribe.
The accused has been identified as Prasanta Kumar Rout, Senior Revenue Assistant (SRA) of Damapada Tahasil in Cuttack district.
Rout has been apprehended by Odisha Vigilance while demanding and accepting a bribe of Rs.3000 as 1st instalment of the overall demand of Rs 12,500 from a Complainant to issue certified copies of orders in mutation cases. The entire bribe money has been recovered from the exclusive possession of the accused and seized.
Following the successful trap, simultaneous searches are going on at two locations of Rout from the DA angle.
In this connection, Cuttack Vigilance P.S. Case No. 14 dated 27.06.2024 U/s-7PC (Amendment) Act,2018 has been registered. The investigation is in progress against the accused. Further details are awaited.
