Rourkela : The Steel Melting Shop-I (SMS-I) of Rourkela Steel Plant (RSP) has set new benchmarks by producing 45,700 Tonnes of crude steel in a single month that is on October, 2022. The previous best was of 44,711 Tonnes of crude steel made in January 2021.
Mr. Atanu Bhowmick, Director In-Charge, RSP visited SMS-I 1st November, 2022 morning and interacted with the departmental collective. The DIC was accompanied by Mr. S R Suryawanshi, ED (Works), Mr. P K Satapathy, ED (P&A), Mr. P K Sahoo, ED (Projects), Mr. Somnath Tripathy, ED (MM), and Mr. P K Rath, CGM In-Charge (Mines) . Several Chief General Managers, other senior officers of the Steel Plant were present on the occasion.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Bhowmick congratulated the collective and appreciated the team work and the coordination amongst different departments. Exhorting the employees to strive further and make all out efforts to meet the set targets he emphasized on three parameters i.e. Consistency, Quality and Cost which will lead the plant to greater heights. The DIC presented bouquets and sweets to Mr. R.K.Patra, CGM, Steel Melting Shop-I and his team in appreciation of the good job.
In his address Mr. Suryawanshi congratulated the team SMS-1 and all the associated departments for reaching an important milestone. He also lauded the department for remaining accident free and exhorted all to reaffirm their resolve to produce safe and green steel. Mr. Satapathy congratulated the collective and appreciated the associated departments for their combined effort that helped achieve this outstanding performance. In his address, Mr. P K Sahoo praised the employees for registering record breaking performance and sustaining the good works. Mr. Tripathy also congratulated the collective and appreciated the team work of associated department.
Mr. R.K.Patra thanked the top management for their unflinching support and all the associated agencies for their invaluable contribution. The employees in turn assured the top management that they would continue to excel in the days to come and help RSP touch new peaks of success.
