Odisha man strangles wife to death, chops her body into pieces before disposing of in river – N.F Times



Bhubaneswar: A man in Ganjam district of Odisha allegedly strangled his wife to death over marital discord and chopped her body into pieces before disposing of them in Rushikulya river yesterday.

The deceased has been identified as Buli Muli of Jagilipadar village in Ganjam.

Buli had tied the knot with Narayan Muli of Bhagbanpur under Sorada police limits in Ganjam around three months ago.

Narayan allegedly strangled Buli to death with the help of a belt after the couple got engaged in an argument yesterday night.

Narayan then carried Buli’s body on his shoulder to Rushkulya riverbanks and chopped it into pieces before throwing them into the river in an attempt to destroy the evidence, sources said.

However, the accused surrendered before police today morning and confessed to the crime.

The police have registered a case in this regard and sought the help of the Fire Brigade to retrieve victim’s body parts from the river, sources added.
