Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik today inaugurated a smart urban haat in Odisha’s Cuttack city.
The state government has built the urban haat on 1.62 acres of land adjacent to Taladanda canal near Malgodown in the Silver City by spending Rs 3.22 crore.
As many as 533 vendors can be accommodated at the newly-inaugurated urban haat. The haat has three entry points, two ramps for small vehicular entry and exit, and paved wide internal roads.
Construction work for the project had started on December 21, 2021.
“The urban haat has separate lavatories for men and women, designated parking lots for vehicles and proper lighting facilities. There is also underground drainage system to carry out rainwater,” said an official.
The swanky urban haat with all modern facilities has been constructed to accommodate the vegetable sellers of Chhatra Bazar and other vendors in the locality, he added.
