Odisha allocates Rs 210 crore for Metro train project – N.F Times


Bhubaneswar: Odisha Government allocated Rs 210 crore for the much-awaited Metro rail project in the state.

In the Supplementary Budget for the year 2023-24, the State Government allocated Rs 210 crore for Odisha Metro Rail Transport.

Today, Odisha Finance Minister BK Arukha presented the supplementary budget 2023-24 worth Rs 28,200 crore.

The Government allocated Rs 1302 crore for Ama Odisha Nabin Odisha, Rs 783 crore for Mission Shakti, Rs 1046 crore for urban development, Rs 400 crore for Fasal Bima Yojana, Rs 100 crore for Smart city, Rs 550 crore for Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana and Rs 1136 crore for development of SC, ST and OBC minorities.

On April 1, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik had approved the Metro train project proposal connecting Bhubaneswar, Puri and Cuttack.

As per the sources, the Metro train service will begin from Bhubaneswar airport to Trisulia covering Bhubaneswar Railway Station, Vani Vihar, Jaydev Vihar, Patia, Nandankanan and Trisulia. The proposed project will be extended to Puri subsequently.
