Bhubaneswar: A youth was found dead with his throat slit inside a forest on Sunday days after her younger sister went missing in Sanakhemundi area of Odisha’s Ganjam district.

The deceased has been identified as Sunil Nayak, son of Sanatan Nayak, of Brundabanpur village under Pattapur police limits in Ganjam.

Sunil went to a nearby forest to graze goats two days ago. But, he did not return home. His family members along with the villagers failed to trace him despite launching a frantic search, sources said.

Sunil was found dead with his throat slit and hands tied inside the forest today morning. His body also bore deep injury marks, sources added.

“We found Sunil’s body with his throat slit and hands tied in a bush after we spotted a trail of blood drops inside the forest. It is a clear-cut case of murder. The police should find out the persons involved in the crime and punish them,” said deceased’s mother Rubi Nayak.

Notably, Sunil’s younger sister Anita, a Plus II second year student, went missing while returning home from her college around 20 days ago. A missing complaint in this regard was filed with Pattapur police. However, the police are yet to trace her, sources said.
