Salipur: The body of a man was spotted today while lying on the floor under mysterious circumstances in a shop at Kulia Bazaar under Salipur police limits in Cuttack district. It is said that the elderly man died late yesterday night but his family members suspected it to be a case of murder.
The deceased was identified as Harekrushna Prusty (60), who was running a roadside eatery.
The sexagenarian’s wife identified as Annapurna Prusty (57) who was also sleeping in the shop last night along with her husband was found in a pool of blood. Initially, she was admitted to the Community Health Centre in Salipur. Later, she was shifted to SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack after her condition deteriorated. Her health condition is critical now, a doctor treating the woman said.
“At around 3.30 am last night, I got a phone call from my maternal cousin brother that my father has died. After reaching the shop, I found both of my parents had multiple injuries on their bodies. I suspect that my father has been killed by somebody for reasons not known. My father had some enemies but I can’t suspect who is involved in the incident,” the deceased man’s son Bhajamana Prusty stated.
Worth mentioning, an elderly businessman identified as 59-year-old Dolagobinda Das who belonged to Matkatapur village of Jiginipur panchayat under Salipur police limits in the district was spotted by some locals on September 24 while floating in Janhia-Ramakrushnapur irrigation canal at Balasahi.
