Bhubaneswar: Unidentified miscreants allegedly hacked a security guard with sword near Puri bypass road in Odisha capital, last night.
The victim, identified as Gouranga Das, sustained critical injuries in the attack and was admitted to the Capital Hospital here for treatment.
According to reports, three men came on a scooter and launched murderous attack on Das with the sharp weapon. They fled the spot after committing the crime.
He was rescued in a critical condition and rushed to the hospital in a PCR van of the Commissionerate Police.
Cops have initiated an investigation while efforts were on to identify and trace the attackers.
The reason behind the assault was yet to be ascertained.
