Odisha districts to witness light to moderate rain or thunderstorm during next 24 hours – N.F Times


Bhubaneswar: Due to cyclonic circulation over Southeast Bay of Bengal and adjoining Andaman Sea now lying over Southeast Bay of Bengal, light to moderate rain or thunderstorm is very likely to occur at one or two places over eight districts of Odisha during next 24 hours, India Meteorological Department (IMD) regional centre here forecasted today.

Temperature Forecast- No large change both in Maximum and Minimum temperature over the districts of Odisha during the next five days.

In its mid-day bulletin, the IMD mentioned, “The cyclonic circulation over Southeast Bay of Bengal and adjoining Andaman Sea now lies over Southeast Bay of Bengal and extends up to 4.5 km above mean sea level. It is likely to move northwestwards and under its influence, a Low Pressure Area is likely to form over central parts of Bay of Bengal around 20th October.”

The highest maximum temperature of 35.2°C was recorded at Jharsuguda and the lowest minimum temperature of 18.0°C was recorded at Phulbani in the plains of Odisha.

For Wednesday (Valid up to 0830 hrs IST of 19.10.2023)

Light rainfall is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of North Coastal Odisha, Sundargarh, Deogarh, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Gajapati, Ganjam, Kandhamal, Rayagada and dry weather is very likely to prevail over the rest districts of Odisha.

For Thursday (Valid from 0830 hrs IST of 19.10.2023 to 0830 hrs IST of 20.10.2023)

Light rainfall is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Malkangiri, Koraput, Rayagada, Gajapati, Ganjam, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Balasore and dry weather is very likely to prevail over the rest districts of Odisha.
