Diploma student dupes former Air Force official of Rs 35 lakh in Odisha capital – N.F Times



Bhubaneswar: A Diploma student allegedly duped a former official of the Indian Air Force of above Rs 35 lakh in Odisha capital here.

Victim Kishore Gantayat has lodged a complaint in this regard with the Cyber Police.

As per the complaint, Gantayat came in contact with accused Santosh Sahu during his treatment in a hospital here some days ago.

Prior to this, Gantayat had lost huge sums in online gaming. Sahu reportedly assured Gantayat to help him regain the lost money, said the complaint.

Sahu managed to get access to Gantayat’s bank account and his phone with the consent of the latter. Subsequently, Sahu transferred above Rs 35 lakh from Gantayat’s account to another one, added the complaint.

Sahu reportedly made foreign trips and stayed in luxury hotels by using the duped money.

“The accused initially transferred the money to a bank account in Bangalore. Later, the amount was brought to an account in Odisha. The accused had made several foreign trips by spending the money,” said a source in the Cyber Police.
