Bhubaneswar: Odisha’s Utkalika is now holding Gandhi Shilp Bazaar-2023, a mega exhibition of handicrafts and handloom products, in the capital city here.
The exhibition, which was inaugurated at Ekamra Haat on November 4 (yesterday), will continue till November 13, sources said.
At least 100 handlooms and handicrafts artisans from 21 states, including Odisha, have opened their stalls at the exhibition.
Kashmir shawls, embroidery works from Jammu and Kashmir, jewellery and leather products from Rajasthan, embroidery works from Madhya Pradesh, tribal jewellery, Manipuri sari, handloom goods from Nagaland, leather works, carpets and handloom products from Uttar Pradesh, jute works and handloom sari from West Bengal, and stone, wooden and other handicrafts products from Odisha are the main attraction of the exhibition, sources added.
People can visit the exhibition at Ekamra Haat from 11 am to 9 pm every day till November 13.
“We are expecting a crowd of around 25,000-30,000 people at the 10-day expo. The mega exhibition is likely to clock business worth Rs 30 lakh this year. The Centre and the Handlooms, Textiles and Handicrafts department of the state government have provided financial assistance for organizing the exhibition,” said an official of Utkalika.
