Jajpur: Class-9 students of PC Brahmachari High School in Odisha’s Jajpur district resorted to a unique way of protesting the lack of Sanskrit teacher in the educational institution as they mentioned about the issue in their answer sheets during examination held on Saturday.
According to reports, absence of Sanskrit teacher in the school had resulted in no classes of the subject during the last one year. As Sanskrit examination was conducted yesterday, the students wrote in the answer sheets regarding the matter and mentioned that nothing much should be expected from them as they don’t have teacher.
Photos of the answer sheets have gone viral on various social media platforms. The students and their parents have demanded appointment of a Sanskrit teacher before the annual examinations.
“We don’t have any Sanskrit teacher. We are unable to study the subject as there is no coaching centre in the area. During the Sanskrit exam, we were asked by school authorities to write whatever we have learnt on our own,” a student said.
“The Sanskrit teacher who was earlier appointed here has now been deployed at Kuanpur High School, for which classes of the subject are not being conducted. As the examination was scheduled, we carried it out. The local Sarpanch and school managing committee members had earlier met the Collector and other concerned officials regarding the issue of lack of Sanskrit teacher in the school,” the headmistress of the school said.
