Leopard that killed two persons in Nuapada shifted to Sambalpur Zoo – N.F Times



Sambalpur: A leopard that had reportedly killed a woman and a minor boy in Odisha’s Nuapada district was today shifted to Sambalpur Zoo.

The animal was shifted to the zoo in a vehicle amid security. The leopard reached the zoo, early this morning.

The shifting process was carried out in the presence of Sambalpur DFO.

The leopard was earlier captured at Kodapali in Dharma Bandha area under Sadar Forest Range in Nuapada on November 4 night.

Locals spotted the leopard on a building in the locality and informed Forest Department. Subsequently, a five-member team of the department reached the spot and installed the cage to trap the big cat.

The leopard was later shifted to the Sadar Forest Range Office.

Worth mentioning, the wild animal had spread havoc in the area as its presence in the region had left the residents panic-stricken.
