Angul: An elderly woman died after reportedly being hit by Rourkela-Bhubaneswar Intercity Express train in Odisha’s Angul district, today.
The deceased was identified as Kuntala Naik (70) of Laxmidharpur village under Jarpada police limits in the district.
According to reports, the mishap took place when she was crossing the railway track at around 9 am. The elderly woman sustained critical injuries and died on the spot.
The Government Railway Police (GRP) recovered the body for post-mortem. An unnatural death has been registered in this connection.
