Khordha: In a tragic incident, a woman reportedly died by suicide a day after her husband’s death in a road accident in Odisha’s Khordha district.
According to reports, Gokul Chandra Sahu of Benagadia under Bolagarh police limits in the district was killed in a road mishap on Diwali evening while he was returning home on a motorcycle as the vehicle collided head-on with another two-wheeler. He was rescued in a critical condition and rushed to a hospital, where he died during treatment.
Unable to bear the trauma of Sahu’s death, his wife last night took the extreme step as she hanged herself to death with a rope.
The death of the couple has rendered their two minor daughters orphan. A pall of gloom descended on the locality over the incident.
