Jajpur: A clerk of a government school was arrested by Odisha Vigilance on charges of receiving a bribe here in the district today.
Maheswar Samal, Clerk of Kabirpur High School, was caught red-handed while demanding and accepting Rs 4,000 bribe from a retired teacher to prepare the latter’s pending arrear bills and pension papers.
Following his arrest, the Vigilance sleuths conducted simultaneous searches at two locations to ascertain disproportionate assets belonging to the accused.
In this connection, a case has been registered under section 7PC Amendment Act, 2018 against the ‘corrupt’ official.
