Jharsuguda: IndiGo airline started direct flight service between Jharsuguda and Bengaluru on Wednesday.
Customary water canon salute was conducted at the Veer Surendra Sai Airport here on the day.
Airport director Sandeep Tiwari handed over the boarding pass to the first passenger of the Jharsuguda-Bengaluru flight.
On the first day of the flight service, 180 passengers travelled from Bengaluru to Jharsuguda while 170 passengers flew from Jharsuguda to Bengaluru.
The flight service will be available daily.
Earlier, Jharsuguda-Kolkata flight service by the airline had started on November 5.
