Jajpur: While millions of Indians were shattered after the national cricket team lost to Australia in the World Cup final yesterday, a young boy with a broken heart reportedly ended his life in Odisha over the defeat.
Unable to bear the trauma after India’s loss at the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2023 final match held at Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on Sunday, Debaranjan Das, a resident of Kula Sahi in Jari Gram Panchayat under Binjharpur police limits in Jajpur district, died by suicide.
The youth hanged self with a rope at his residence following the tournament.
The local police recovered the body and initiated a probe into the incident.
