Harbhanga: Separate teams of Income Tax (IT) sleuths today carried out simultaneous raids at different locations associated with Boudh Distillery Private Limited (BDPL) and Ranisati Paddy Processing Private Limited (RSPPL) in Boudh district over alleged tax evasion, which are still underway.
The raids were conducted at places linked to the distillery company in Boudh, Bolangir, Rayagada, and Sambalpur including its registered offices at Kolkata and Ranchi, a private source said.
According to the source, the BDPL is located in Titirikata and RSPPL in Purunakatak under Harbhanga block of the district. The searches were started early in the morning at around 6.00 am. A 12-member team was divided into separate groups, who took part in the simultaneous raids. About four Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) jawans also were deployed to assist the raid teams at BDPL.
Similarly, around eight IT sleuths and four CISF jawans took part in the raids on RSPPL.
