Berhampur: A minor has been arrested for allegedly hacking his employer to death over non-payment of dues in Gopalpur in Odisha’s Ganjam district. He has been produced in court today.
As per reports, the boy, who hailed from Bhanjanagar area, was working at a fast food joint under one Jagannath Nayak in Gopalpur. For the last few months, the boy and Nayak were at loggerheads over non-payment of salary. Even after repeated requests, Nayak was not heeding to the boy’s pleas and did not pay him his monthly dues. Triggered and upset, the boy attacked Nayak with a stone and iron rod and beat him to death.
Police said a case has been registered and efforts are on to trace involvement of others in the crime. Investigation is underway.
