Two hardcore Maoists of KKBN division lay down arms before Odisha DGP in Kandhamal – N.F Times

Phulbani: Two hardcore red rebels operating under the Kalahandi-Kandhamal-Boudh-Nayagarh (KKBN) division surrendered today before the Director General of Police (DGP), Odisha Sunil Kumar Bansal in the presence of Director (Intelligence) Sanjeeb Panda and other senior officials in Kandhamal.

The ultras belonging to the outlawed CPI (Maoist) faction were identified as Ranjit Naitam, working as an area committee member, and Unga Poyam working as a party member of Mahanadi Area Committee.

The Maoists have several cases pending against them in Odisha and Chhattisgarh police stations and they hail from the neighbouring state. Both have been working in the organisation since 2017.

The DGP welcomed the two Maoists and appealed to other ultras still working in the organisation to shun violence and join the mainstream of society and lead a normal and better life.
