2 dead after motorcycle collides head-on with truck in Odisha’s Nabarangpur – N.F Times



Nabarangpur: A man and his father-in-law were killed as a motorcycle on which they were travelling had a head-on collision with a truck in front of a local post office on State Highway connecting Chhattisgarh under Raighar block and this police limits in Nabarangpur district, today morning.

The deceased man has been identified as 30-year-old Laxman Jani, who belonged to Bhimatikira village of Gona panchayat under Raighar block, and his father-in-law as 65-year-old Bali Jani, who belonged to Marangapali Colony of Ganjapara panchayat in the district.

According to a source, Laxman had gone to his father-in-law’s house yesterday and he got news about his paternal aunt’s death at night. The next morning, Laxman along with Bali was on his way on the ill-fated motorcycle (registration number CG-04 KP-9031) to attend the funeral at Bhimatikira village when the duo met with an accident leading to the deaths. For reasons not known yet, the motorcycle skidded and came to the front of the truck and was run over by the four-wheeler at the main market.

“The two persons died on the spot in the fatal road mishap,” an eyewitness said.

On being informed, a team of Raighar police reached the spot and launched a probe, which is underway. Police have seized the bodies and sent them to a nearby hospital for post-mortem.
