Former Odisha Governor MM Rajendran passes away at 88 – N.F Times



Bhubaneswar: Former Odisha Governor MM Rajendran passed away in Chennai today. He was 88.

Rajendran was the Governor of Odisha from 1999 to 2004. He had taken charge immediate after the 1999 super cyclone in the state.

Rajendran was an IAS topper and he had also served as the Chief Secretary of Tamil Nadu.

Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik has expressed grief over the demise of the former Odisha Governor. He also described Rajendran as an able administrator.

“Deeply saddened to know about the demise of MM Rajendran, former Governor of Odisha. His long years of experience as a career bureaucrat had made him carve a niche for himself as an administrator. He will be always remembered for his dedication and service to the people. My condolences to his family and friends,” said the Chief Minister in a Twitter (X) post.
