Bhubaneswar: Ahead of the scheduled inauguration of the Srimandir Parikrama project in Puri on January 17, the distribution of invitation cards for the event began today.
As many as 30 teams left the Shree Jagannath Temple at around 8 AM carrying the invitation cards. While 13 teams will distribute the cards within the state, 17 teams will carry out the work outside the state.
The invitation cards will be given to dignitaries, religious heads of various temples and shrines, mutts and important religious institutions.
In Bhubaneswar, one of the teams will reach the Lingaraj Temple with invitation card. The team will later go to the residence of Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik to invite him.
Days ago, authorities of the temple administration had visited the temple to invite Lord Jagannath, His siblings and other deities on the premises of the temple.
