Bhubaneswar: Two youths were killed when a speeding truck hit a Bullet motorcycle on National Highway (NH) no. 55 in Sambalpur district of Odisha today.
The deceased have been identified as Shuvendu Sahu and Shyamsundar Bhartia of Rairakhol.
The incident took place while the two youths, aged around 20, were returning home from a park at Podabalanda Road under Rairakhol NAC in the evening.
The Sambalpur-bound speeding truck hit the Bullet motorcycle on the NH-55 near ABC restaurant at around 5 pm. The duo died on the spot, sources said.
Soon after the mishap, locals staged a road blockade and sought adequate compensation for the victims’ families.
