Bhubaneswar: Zero Night celebrations in hotels in Odisha capital will be allowed till 12.30 AM, informed Twin City Commissionerate Police. It has issued a set of guidelines regarding New Year’s Eve celebrations in hotels and bars to maintain law and order.
Hotels/ bars wishing to extend celebrations till 1:30 AM must seek special permission. Organizers are required to implement additional security measures, address parking concerns, and monitor liquor consumption, said Bhubaneswar DCP Prateek Singh.
Furthermore, the organizers are urged to provide extra drivers to safely transport intoxicated individuals to their homes. If necessary, organizers are advised to have an ambulance on standby, the police official said.
To ensure a safe environment, the police instructed hoteliers and bar owners to prohibit the use of drugs within their premises, warning of potential consequences if this rule is violated.
Special police teams will be deployed at hotels, and increased patrolling and block-checking will be conducted at midnight to deter drunk driving.
